Houston singer-songwriter, Patric Johnston, and local post-rock quartet, Grey Lakes, performed at Wright Bros. Brew & Brew on Feb. 26 for Songs in the Sitting Room, an event that started off as a concert series consisting of a small gathering of friends and acquaintances in the living room of University of Texas grads, Melissa Huisman and Austin Yount, in May of 2015. Within months, the event outgrew their living room’s capacity and moved to the much larger venue of Wright Bros. Brew & Brew in November of 2015.

These monthly concerts now feature local bands and draw a crowd of 70+ people. Songs in the Sitting Room’s aim, Huisman and Yount says, is “to celebrate music while maintaining an intimate vibe and community feel for all involved.”
